Kids Contest to Design a TARC Bus

Transit Authority River City (TARC) and Louisville Free Public Library has announced it's annual contest for children in Elementary, Middle or High School to utilize their artistic side to design a bus. The contest extends to Jefferson, Oldham and Bullitt Counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark Counties in Southern Indiana.

You can then enter your piece for a chance to be among twelve winners to have their artwork displayed on a TARC bus, PLUS winners and their adult guests will be invited to ride on the bus featuring the winning artwork in the 2023 Pegasus Parade, scheduled for Sunday, April 30th, 2023. (See the article for the Pegasus Parade here)

Local students are invited to submit artwork focused on the theme, “Every Journey, a Story.” Student artists are encouraged to think about a personal journey from their lives that resulted in learning something new, or expanding the breadth of their knowledge about the world, then create an illustration reflecting that as a story. The deadline is Feb. 10th. More info at www.ridetarc.org

Entries should be in marker, crayon, or paint on 11” by 17” white paper, or created digitally with the same dimensions, and submitted as a JPG or PDF file. Entries will be judged on visual appeal, creativity, originality, and message. All artwork is to be produced by the student only.

This year’s entry deadline is Friday, February 10, 2023. Please submit artwork and complete the entry form here: https://www.ridetarc.org/student-entry-form/ For questions or additional information email: designabus@ridetarc.org
