JCPS Resumes In-Person Learning January 24th

Jefferson County Public Schools sent a mass text to parents with the plan to resume to in-person instruction beginning Monday, January 24th, 2022.

The message fromt he School CNXT app reads:

Dear JCPS Family,

The teachers, staff and administrators at JCPS have been working hard to provide your child with the best learning experience possible during our eight (8) days in Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI). We appreciate the effort put forth by everyone in the JCPS family to continue learning while doing our best to keep everyone healthy and safe during these uncertain times.

We have some positive news to report regarding the number of staff absences at our schools. In the past few days, the number of positive COVID-19 cases among our staff has dropped. That means fewer JCPS employees will be in quarantine. We believe there are now enough staff members, substitute teachers, bus drivers and other staff available to safely reopen our school buildings.

What that means for you and your student is that tomorrow, Monday January 24, all students will be returning to in-person learning. Buses will resume their regular routes in the morning and afternoon. Food service will resume in cafeterias and our in-school COVID-19 testing will resume for those students who have signed up for it.

We did not reach this decision to return to in-person classes lightly. We know this is a difficult issue for many families but we feel it is important to get students back to in-person instruction with their teachers and classmates. We will continue to monitor the numbers daily to ensure that we can continue in-person instruction. We will communicate with you regularly to update you on any changes.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding as we work through these challenging times together.

Sincerely,

Jefferson County Public Schools
