JCPS Free Meals Extended with more hours

Jefferson County Public Schools is a part of the USDA free and reduced lunch program. Over the summer months they hand out breakfast and lunches to children ages 0-18, however the grant from the USDA has been extended through December! That means until the end of school in 2020 all children 18 and under can continue to receive breakfast and lunch items, no questions asked. You do not even have to attend a JCPS school. All you have to do is either walk, bike or drive up, tell them how many children will be receiving the meals and they will hand it to you with a smile. (They even give my dog a treat)

Scheduled times for pick up are from 10am-1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and new added time perfect for working parents from 4-6 at these select locations:

  • Roosevelt=Perry

  • Butler

  • Farnsley

  • Valley High School

  • Louisville Male High School

  • Seneca

  • Westport Middle

  • Eastern High School

  • Greathouse

  • Carrithers Middle School

Breakfast items have included:

  • Sausage Biscuits

  • Egg & Cheese Biscuits

  • Cereal

  • Muffins

  • Cinnamon Rolls

Fruit & Veggies have included:

  • Carrots with Ranch

  • Sliced Apples

  • Sliced Cucumber

  • Frozen berries

  • Frozen Strawberries

  • Broccoli

  • Corn

  • Potato wedges

  • Tater Tots

  • Fruit cups including

  • Pineapple

  • Peaches

  • Fruit Cocktail

Lunches have included:

  • Corn dogs

  • Pizza Packets

  • Chicken Nuggets

  • Chicken Patties

  • Burgers

  • Quesadillas

  • Nachos with chicken, cheese, salsa

Snacks have included:

  • Goldfish Crackers

  • Graham Crackers

  • Cheese-its

  • Scooby-Doo Graham Sticks

  • Oatmeal bars

  • String Cheese

Drinks have included:

  • 1% Milk

  • Chocolate Milk

  • Apple Juice

  • Juice similar to Capri-Sun

Here are some pictures of the meals we received one day for my 3 kids, other than some apples and cucumbers my kids got to before I could snap the picture. Also I like to put the milk into a gallon sized pitcher to take up less space in the fridge.
